Endless Night

The Endless Night is the name given to a group of deities who fall outside the realm of acceptable worship. These include fiends who reward worshippers and gods whose role is not socially accepted. These deities are reviled by civilized folks and their worship is outlawed in most nations. Their temples are secreted away in dark places in the world, and their churches are generally regarded as cults. Most gods of the Endless Night do not get along with each other, nor do their worshippers commonly work together, but the grouping of the Endless Night was assigned by their detractors, not by their clergy.
