Half-Orcs

From Snowblossom

Jump to: navigation, search

Half-Orcs in Snowblossom are fairly rare. Orcs consider breeding outside the race to be a dishonorable act, spreading orc blood to those who are unworthy. While the two races co-exist peacefully, they do not often interbreed for cultural reasons.

The rare half-orc is generally a product of a forbidden love, rarely of a rape - orc males consider rape a horribly dishonorable act, and an orc female would terminate the pregnancy before allowing orc blood to be muddied. If they are raised by their parents, they can live a fairly normal life.

Views on Half-Orcs

Despite the fact that they consider creating a half-orc to be dishonorable, orcs are suprisingly accepting of half-orcs. They do not blame the children for the sins of the parents. An orc tribe will accept a half-orc as one of their own, although they will not allow the half-orc to become a leader of the tribe nor will they encourage them to breed (of course, no honorable orc would breed with a half-orc).

Humans tend to accept any race into their communities, and half-orcs are no exception. Although they may find it difficult to fit in precisely with a human community, half-orcs are no more outcast than goblinoids, and are probably more easily accepted that orcs themselves, whose attitudes on honor can be abrasive.

Views on Other Races

Because they are made to feel a part of the tribe among orcs, that is where half-orcs generally find their place.
