History
Nezrahim is the oldest surviving kingdom in the world. In fact, the widely used Nezrahi calendar counts back to the day an old hero united warring territories into a kingdom. Originally, the kingdom spanned a large area, but the kingdom had lost ground in wars and rebellions.
When the Bale came, Nezrahim was targeted first and the land was corrupted wholly. The dead rose and attacked the living, animals and plants were corrupted and the kingdom was left in ruin. Although some inhabitants survived the corruption, they were forever changed, including the creation of the first Bone Elves.
A lich called the King of Sorrows usurped the throne of Nezrahim and enslaved those inhabitants who had survived. Although the Bale were eventually sealed in the rift from whence they had came, the Kingdom of Nezrahim was full of powerful undead, and no army could liberate it. For 200 years, the King of Sorrows lorded over the land and fueled his army with the corpses of those who defied him.
Finally, from inside Nezrahim, the White Crown formed. Made up of undead who had freed their minds from the grip of evil, the White Crown’s members fought their way to the King of Sorrows and slew him in his throne. The Ashen Lord, a member of the White Crown, was installed on the throne, and the Crown began freeing the people of Nezrahim.
People
The people of Nezrahim are of many races, but even hundreds of years later, they are all tied together by the scars they bear from the Bale's invasion. While the White Crown has made progress, the land still suffers in many places.
Government and Economy
The Ashen Lord still sits on the throne of Nezrahim, but he has spent the last century turning control back over to the human population. The White Crown is well-loved by the people of Nezrahim, and thus they are still looked to for leadership and protection, which they happily give.
The nation has had a difficult time recovering from the time of the Ashen Lord. The White Crown has supplemented the economy - for years, they paid for the import of food and such from neighboring nations.
Foreign Relations
Most nations have only begun to carry on diplomatic relations with Nezrahim. After the Ashen Lord rose to the throne, most nations simply would not accept that a force of benevolent undead existed.
Volde was the first nation to reach a hand out to Nezrahim, nearly seven decades ago. The poor collective of Volde was rewarded with rich trade opportunities with Nezrahim. In addition, the White Crown was welcomed into Volde, and Volde's militia, the Sacred Sword, was trained by warriors of the White Crown.
Two decades later, the Middle Kingdoms officially opened relations with Nezrahim. The northern nations have no official relations with Nezrahim, although Alembria is interested in having access to Nezrahim's southern coastline.
Due to religious beliefs, the people of Shandath refuse to have any relationship with Nezrahim.
