Red Guard

The Red Guard is the allied army of the Middle Kingdoms. It is employed throughout the Middle Kingdoms to defend villages, guard important dignitaries and fight the enemies of the Alliance.

Rank

• Guard - a rank-and-file member of the guard.
• Sergeant - the second-in-command to the Captain of a unit.
• Captain - commands a unit of about 10 guardsmen.
• Knight-Captain - commands 5 Captains, as well as his own unit (about 60 to 75 men).
• Commander - commands 5 Knight-Captains, as well as his own unit (about 300 to 400 men).
• General - commands 5 Commanders, as well as his own unit (about 1500 to 2000 men).
• Lord Protector - Commander-in-Chief of the Red Guard

Classes

While many of the guardsmen are fighters, no unit is complete without a healer of some sort. Rangers and barbarians are common as well, and monks can easily find a place among the Red Guard.

Wizards and sorcerers also find much use in the Red Guard. There are several "Mage Brigades" - units made up of mostly spellcasters and two or three melee fighters.
